About event
The FF MU students' endowment fund invites you to the Lantern Parade in Brno - this is already a traditional commemorative event, where we will remember together the courage of not only the students in 1939 and 1989. Remember the events of November 17 with the symbolic lighting of the lantern and the city while passing through several historical important places of those years.
The procession will start at 18:00 at náměstí Svobody, from where we head to Moravské náměstí and then through Comenské náměstí to the Faculty of Arts. The next stop is the BUT Faculty of Architecture and the Faculty of Law, where we will light candles together to honor the memory of the victims of both totalitarian regimes. The last stop will be the Kaunic dormitories, from where we will move to Kraví hora, where the lantern procession will end with the joint singing of the Czech, Slovak and student anthems. At individual stops, there will always be a historical interpretation by members of the Masaryk Historici association.
Don't forget warm clothes and tea in a thermos. You can bring your own lanterns, buy them on the spot, or make them at our traditional workshop, which starts at 2:00 PM in the Palace of Nobles. We will look forward to seeing you.
