Lantern parade 2024
Event by: Centrum pre rodinu Trenčín
Location: Mariánske námestie, Trenčín
About event
We invite parents and children to the Lantern Parade of St. Martin, which will take place on Friday, November 15, 2024.
Kindergarten and 1st grade elementary school students are especially welcome, but mothers with baby carriers as well as older children and youth are also welcome. The tradition of processions is inspired by the friendly gesture of St. Martin, who shared his cloak with a poor man on the way, lighting the light of hope and love in him.
We will meet at 5:00 p.m. in front of the parish church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary. The lantern procession will then move through the streets to Mierová námestie, where a short theatrical performance will take place on the stage. Sweet snacks and hot tea will also be prepared. Don't forget to bring a smile and a good mood to light the light of hope and love in your hearts, as well as in the hearts of the people around you.
We recommend that children bring lanterns with them. In case they fail to provide their own lantern, we will have one ready for everyone. The event is supported by the SPP Foundation.
