About event
On the 29th of November, the publication of another author's catalog from the collection that Cinemateca has been dedicating to Portuguese filmmakers will be published, this time on the filmography of José Nascimento, a director whose work was retrospective last October in a Cycle also titled "José Nascimento: Neither Truth, Nor Lie". The edition includes original essays by Ricardo Vieira Lisboa, also the book's organizer, and writer António Cabrita, as well as republications of texts and reports by António Roma Torres, Laurinda Alves, Francisco Ferreira, Luís Miguel Oliveira, Maria João Madeira and Vanessa Rato.
In addition to these, it also features an extensive interview with the director, several working documents, unrealized film projects, preparatory drawings by Ana Pissarra, and nearly two dozen testimonies from colleagues and friends who worked with José Nascimento throughout a career that spans more than five decades. The launch will be attended by José Nascimento, Ana Pissarra and Ricardo Vieira Lisboa.
