Lanceringsborrel Roma Aeterna 12.II

After two special issues, about the relationship between Rome and Naples and Rome in the Middle Ages, we are presenting another collection of individual articles this winter. In the new Roma Aeterna you can read, among other things, how humanist poets looked at ruins in Rome (which is not so eternal in all respects), the history of institutions such as our very beloved Royal Dutch Institute in Rome (KNIR) is discussed and it forms a series of Rome maps from the Allard Pierson collection is a feast for the eyes. Throughout the issue you will also encounter some vignettes that talk about a number of sensational Roman libraries and for the closing contribution Erik van den Berg delved into his library for us, for a collection of diary fragments about the Colosseum.
