Language & Art Lovers meet for dance double bill at PLATAFORMA BERLIN Festival

** As part of the Ibero-American Festival Plataforma Berlin, two pieces can be seen on this evening: ** ** It begins with the 17-minute award-winning dance solo "Instant Gradual" ** of the artist Kirenia Martínez Acosta, who is born in Cuba and lived in northern Spain. With over 25 years of professional experience in contemporary dance, she newly programs her body to react to the unique surrounding and time conditions of every performance room and moments. “Gradual Instant” deals with universal topics such as aging, risk and honesty and captivates the audience with its powerful mix of movement and emotion.

** In the second part, the Brazilian choreographer Reinaldo Ribeiro shows the piece "Samba" (50 minutes), ** in which he explores his roots in the carnival, the largest open-air spectacle in the world. In this solo work, the body becomes a space of contradictions that reflect the tension between celebration and reluctance, excess and norm. Inspired by his personal story, “Samba” goes beyond the individual and deals with universal topics such as identity, migration, queerness, politics and violence.

Inspired by what is seen, spectators can then exchange ideas in German, Spanish, Portuguese, English or with "hands and feet" in a playful encounter format "Language & Art Lovers".
