Dear friends,
the closest opportunity to meet will be during the daily opening of the group exhibition that we have prepared at the Vanek House.
- You can come anytime from 13:00 to 18:00.
- From 13:00 to 15:00 there will be a ceramic drawing workshop with Ivana Šáteková / capacity 10 people / register at [email protected]
- At 16:00 there will be a guided tour of the exhibition together with the authors.
We have invited the following authors to cooperate:
Jan Kostohryz, Klaudia Kosziba, Barbora Lungová, Jamila Mitríková, Svätopluk Mikyta, Peter Puklus, Tomáš Rafa, Alexander Tinei, Imrich Vanek
He and She – Imrich and Olga – like Adam and Eve, Dalí and Gala. In an embrace, in close proximity, during the daily routine, as a body double at a specific time, they became a thing of the past. With the exhibition themed partner love, we continue the story that permeates the structured levels of the house in Bratislava's Koliba. We connect to the expression and kind gestures present in Imrich Vanek's monumental works. Touches and imprints in the overwriting clay and porcelain accompanied his work for decades. Visually, the love for the many four-legged members of the family - for the "catch of cats" - permeates the house. A loving, gentle community that shared this space with the owners until the last moment. An apple, an egg, gilded bodies rolled in space – attributes of transformation, the cycle of life and rebirth. In their mirror, love appears as a process, not a state: birth, burning, burning, ashes, and rebirth in a new form. In the background, you can feel the warmth of the ceramic kiln - a modern image of the ancient fire of Heraclitus, which transforms everything and at the same time preserves identity - family, partner and lover's hearth.
The exhibition will also include a curated selection of books about love prepared for the project by Tomáš Lazar from www.antikvariatik.sk.
