Main idea

The training includes an introductory part and three thematic modules with a total duration of six hours. The aim is to impart basic knowledge on the topics of colonialism, structural racism, "othering", intersectional discrimination and post-colonial power relations - always in connection with current social issues.

A special focus is on integrating the Cameroonian perspective: historical case studies such as the story of Rudolf Manga Bell, the colonial connections between Cameroon and Germany and their significance for today's political, economic and cultural realities are the focus. For this purpose, concrete didactic materials that were created in collaboration with a high school and a vocational school in Cameroon are integrated.

The training follows an interactive and practice-oriented approach: In addition to theoretical input, central components include discussions, small group work, the analysis of historical sources, educational materials and reflection exercises. Methods are presented on how complex topics such as colonialism, decolonization or global inequality can be treated in an age-appropriate and context-related manner.

We look forward to your participation and to forwarding this invitation!

Warm greetings
Your LAV team in cooperation with NARUD e.V.
