We are organizing another of the series of CEQLS lectures. This time our guest will be the American economist and historian Lawrence W. ("Larry") Reed.
Place: Park Inn by Radisson Danube Bratislava
Time: Thursday, November 27, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Entry and registration of participants:
The lecture followed by a discussion will be in English with simultaneous interpreting. If you wish to also order the use of interpretation, purchase a ticket guaranteeing an interpretation station. Participation in the lecture is subject to payment of a fee (4.00 euros or 2.00 euros for students + 0.50 euros in case of a request for an interpretation station). The number of places is limited, advance registration is required.

Reed was president of the Foundation for Economic Education in Atlanta, Georgia, USA from 2008 to 2019, and previously, from 1987 to 2008, he directed the Mackinac Center for Public Policy in Midland, Michigan. He also taught economics at Northwood University in Michigan, where he also chaired the economics department.
He is the author of nearly 2,000 columns and articles in newspapers, magazines, and professional periodicals in the US and abroad. Reed is the author or co-author of eight books, including Excuse Me, Professor: Challenging the Myths of Progressivism, Real Heroes: Inspiring True Stories of Courage, Character and Conviction, and his other book is Was Jesus a Socialist?. Lawrence Reed is also a recipient of Poland's highest award to a foreigner, the Grand Cross of the Order of Merit for the Republic of Poland, for his assistance to Polish dissidents during the communist regime in the 1980s.
