The exhibition . Schiele gradually gave up the radical formal experiments from 1910 to 1914 and developed a more realistic style, which was characterized by deeper empathy. His line calmed down, became fluent and organic, and those depicted gained physical abundance. The show also enables new insights into this crucial time by combining contemporary archives, such as the previously unpublished diary of Edith Schiele.

are presented in the purely monographic show, which is divided into nine subject areas - search for self | Couples | Edith Anna Schiele, born Harms | Family | Life in the army | Landscape | The female figure | Portraits | Success and last works - approx. 130 works of art from Austrian and international collections. The large -format portrait of the painter Albert Paris by Gütersloh from 1918 from the Minneapolis Institute of Art, Minnesota, is one of the highlights of the show, as well as four previously unknown work on paper that is exhibited for the first time.
