It worked: Les Amoureuses (“the lovers”) are a new one Berlin duo that has dedicated its heart and soul to the diversity of French chansons.
The singer and guitarist Judith Antkowiak, who grew up in a musical family in Dresden and is also active as a solo artist, meets here with Ernestine Luise, a Berlin singer who spent her childhood and youth in France and developed her love of the accordion during her training as a piano tuner discovered.
Together, the two interpret French classics such as the romantic “La vie en rose”, the rough “Accordéon” as well as younger chansons, e.g. B. “Le premier bonheur du jour” by Françoise Hardy.
Sometimes they take turns singing, sometimes Judith's alto voice and Ernestine's soprano find themselves in a gentle embrace, complemented by sensitive guitar playing and colorful accordion.
The warm humor and lightness that the duo radiates are combined with poetry and emotional depth in the chansons. In this way, the musicians bring moving stories to life, touch the heart and give audiences – not just expressly Francophiles – an inspiring concert experience.
