Les frères Francœur

The surname “Francvey” is indelibly enrolled in history with several remarkable personalities of musical life. The program situated in the Lobkowicz Palace at Prague Castle (of which is allegedly the most beautiful view of the Prague panorama) pays homage to two of them: Louis and François. Although Louis's work remains faithful to the French style and François flirts with the Italian style, the music of both brothers is typical melodic depth, sparkling virtuosity and very imaginative polyphonic effects. At François we would even find a Czech trail - in 1723 on the occasion of the coronation of Charles VI. He arrived at Prague. French violinist Théotime Langlois de Swwar will play on the violin of Carl Bergonzi from 1733, accompanied by the French-American player Justin Taylor.
