About event
The Czech bestselling author Petra Dvořáková presents her novel The Crows - a haunting story about violence, shame, longing and the quiet hope of rescue.
The focus is on twelve-year-old Bára, who grows up in a family full of fear and violence. With psychological precision and linguistic power, Dvořáková tells from the perspective of daughter and mother how relationships can give support and destroy at the same time.
The Crows, published in the German translation by Hana Hadas by Anthea Verlag, is a bestseller in the Czech Republic and Poland and is considered one of the author's strongest books.
With readings by Petra Dvořáková and the actress Elna Lindgens, in conversation with Christina Frankenberg (Czech Center Berlin).
An event organized by the Pablo Neruda District Central Library and the Czech Center Berlin, with support from the Czechia 2026 project.
