We invite you to the solemn opening of the Lefthargy exhibition Blanket of the author's pair Julie Gyboś and Barbora Zentková, which will take place on Friday 31.01.2025 at 18.00h in GJK, Koppelova Villa on the green bush 3 in Trnava. 🥳
The work of Julia Gryboś and Barbora Zentková has long developed in the intentions of sustainability, anchoring in examining various material levels, recycling, up-cycling, return to traditional textile techniques and rukodievní. They belong to the younger generation of artists and artists who turn to traditional craftsmanship, originally non -artistic technologies and materials. They work with second -hand textiles, the original function of which has already been filled. They treat with dyed pigments, wide gauze bands, with drapery, where different fingerprints can be recognized. These are a record of timehoods, they capture something that was there, but it is no longer. The fabrics are applied directly to the gallery wall, creating a kind of soft -specific wallpaper into which the exhibition space is wrapped. The authors draw his architectural elements into the complexity of their installation. In concentrated work, there are protection, leakage from the world with saturated perceptions, speed, efficiency. They work with the duality of the absence and the present moment, with different time scales for the body and the planet. The human factor operating on the planet is represented by wall reliefs created by cotton layering - resembling sediments of rocks, planets or soil cuts. Layering or sediments motif is also repeated in objects consisting of metal structures of round organic shapes and wax, where wax with gradual solidification creates individual layers similar to solidified lava, which are echoing layers of fabrics in the muzzle reliefs.
Gryboś and Barbara Zentková are reflected in the need to relax, relax, cosiness, harmony or refuge, but also about friendships and pleasant meetings.
