What if the fairy tale about Cinderella was not about the beautiful princess, but about the "ugly" stepsister? Elvíra lives in the shadow of the perfect Agnes in a world where beauty is currency, power and a ticket to a better life. When the prince throws a ball, her mother is determined to do whatever it takes to make her daughter the ideal bride—even at the cost of pain, humiliation, and terrifying transformations. The Ugly Sister is a dark, provocative and visually captivating reinterpretation of the classic fairy tale, which with black humor and body horror opens the topic of obsession with beauty, social pressure and the desire to be loved. This is not a children's story. It's a chilling story about how far we'll go to fit in.
