After the extremely successful The Worst Man in the World (2021), director Joachim Trier comes with a sensitive comedy drama about one house and the joys and worries of one family that has lived in it for decades. Sisters Nora and Agnes reunite with their estranged father after years. The charismatic and once-famous director Gustav offers theater actress Nora a role in the film, which is supposed to be his directorial comeback and the culmination of his career. When Nora turns down the offer, he casts the enthusiastic young Hollywood star Rachel Kemp in her place. Thus begins a series of funny and painfully honest meetings, during which Nora and Agnes come to terms with complicated family relationships and the unexpected presence of an American star.
