About event
A year after the brutally suppressed uprising against the communist regime, the world of a young Jewish boy, Andor, is turned upside down. As a battered Hungary prepares for its lavish May Day celebrations, a man claims to be his real father enters Andor's life. László Nemes, uncompromising film talent and Oscar winner for the film Son of Saul, returns with a chilling study of the disintegration of a family and an entire society. The captivating historical film thus becomes a terrifying metaphor for the loss of freedom in the course of Eastern European history.
