Letní kino IPN Praha: Veřejný prostor Františka Skály

On a playful journey through public space in a documentary with one of the most versatile Czech artists, František Skála, it is possible to see the world differently. With humor, seriousness and self-irony, the artist, performer and musician gives an exceptional glimpse into the many imaginary doors behind which lie beauty in imperfection, poetry in the ordinary, handprints in the passage of time and the joy of creation as a way of life. Skály's creative energy can also be felt in the process of creating the monumental sculpture of the dog Vulpes Gott, from the creation of the model to the boat trip on the Elbe to the opening in Dresden. The event intertwines the artist's diaries and objects in public space, including his first sculpture in the castle park of Veltrusy, Prastánek or the Paradise Garden in Sluňákov. The film features the friends of František Skály, the band Třaskavá měška or the brass band Provodovjané and the philosopher Miroslav Petříček. The Renaissance personality Skála is also known from the Sklep Theater, the group Tvrdohlaví, the group Tros Sketos or M.T.O. Universal.
