About event
The Považ Art Gallery in Žilina invites children aged 6 to 12 to the summer art residency Summer in the Gallery, which will take place on August 17-21, 2026, every day from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The residency offers creative experiences in the gallery environment and outside it and is focused on discovering art through personal experience, games and experiment.
During five days, children will work with works from the gallery's collection and browse through books in the gallery's library. Inspiration will be the environments in which art is created - studios, homes and the everyday background of artists. Through artistic activities, they will create their own spaces, explore the relationship between the work and its context, and look for how art connects with personal experience.
The program will also include trips to neighboring galleries and activities outside the gallery space, which will expand their perception of art in a wider context. the composition of the teaching team will be supplemented. The residence is designed as a space for creation, discovery, movement and relaxation.
