About event
Every year during the Winter Weeks there is a lantern parade through the city center of Nijmegen. This year the parade is in collaboration with the Amalia Children's Hospital. The light parade is for everyone, from young to old, who wants to light a light for someone else or enjoy walking along the beautiful route. Naturally, the Winter Fairy will walk along with the parade.
Lights for the walk can be purchased from December 16 in the Stevenskerk by means of a PIN payment via the QR code. On Wednesday, December 27 from 2 p.m. there will be a special craft table for children who want to decorate a lantern. The proceeds from all lights that are sold are donated to the Amalia Children's Hospital.
Practical information< /p>
The walking route goes past a number of light sculptures, from the Stevenskerk, towards the Kronenburger Park and ends at Holt on the Ganzenheuvel. Everyone gets a hot chocolate there.
The route is wheelchair and stroller friendly. Take into account the height difference of the Nijmegen city center. Registration in advance is advisable and can be done free of charge. There are two walking start times: at 5:15 PM and at 6:30 PM. The route is 1.8 km long and takes approximately 40 minutes. We start at the Stevenskerk, where you can buy a lantern and support the Amalia Children's Hospital!
