Linda May Han Oh is one of the biggest stars in the jazz world and is visiting the ZigZag Club for the first time as a leader! With her project The Glass Hours, the celebrated bassist and composer deals with the fragility of life and the contradictions of our time. The sophisticated and rousing compositions are brought to life by her congenial band The Glass Hours 4tet. An evening of contemporary jazz music of the highest quality and one of the biggest musical highlights of 2025 awaits you!
Linda May Han Oh is one of the most influential bassists and composers of our time. Born in Malaysia and raised in Australia, she has earned a place among the world's best from New York. Her playing combines lyrical sensitivity, pulsating energy and intellectual depth - qualities that make her an indispensable voice in modern jazz. Oh is a long-time member of Pat Metheny's ensemble and has worked with icons such as Joe Lovano, Vijay Iyer, Kenny Barron, Steve Coleman, Geri Allen, Terri Lyne Carrington and Dave Douglas. She released several highly acclaimed albums under her own name, which received multiple awards from DownBeat and the Jazz Journalists Association. In addition to her work as a performer, she is a professor at Berklee College of Music and is deeply committed to the next generation of young musicians. Originally from London, alto saxophonist and composer Will Vinson moved to New York City in 1999 and has been an integral part of the city ever since. Since his arrival, he has performed with Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Ari Hoenig, Marcus Gilmore, Chris Potter, Kurt Elling, Lage Lund, Aaron Parks and many others and/or made recordings. Will is a member of a number of leading ensembles, including pianist Gonzalo Rubalcaba's Quartet, Ari Hoenig's Punk Bop and Nonet, Miguel Zenon's Identities Orchestra and his own groups, which, in addition to the musicians mentioned above, also include Shai Maestro and Mike Moreno. Will is a multiple Grammy nominee and has recorded on leading modern jazz labels such as Criss Cross Records.

Sara Serpa is one of the preeminent voices of contemporary jazz. The Lisbon-born singer lives in New York and is known for her crystal-clear voice and her innovative, often chamber music projects. With an aesthetic that combines jazz, new music and free improvisation, she has worked with musicians such as Danilo Perez, Nir Felder, Ran Blake, Ingrid Laubrock, Tyshawn Sorey and Guillermo Klein. Fabian Almazan is a Cuban-American jazz pianist, composer and film composer who stands out not only for his virtuosity, but also for his stylistic and thematic depth. He studied under Kenny Barron and Jason Moran. Since 2007 he has been the pianist in Terrence Blanchard's band. Almazan runs the label Biophilia Records, which combines music with environmental awareness. His music combines elegance, lyrical depth and orchestral breadth - sometimes intimate, sometimes polemical, always rich in nuances.
Drummer Mark Whitfield Jr. was born with jazz. As the son of the great guitarist Mark Whitfield, it was only a matter of time that he discovered music and became a talented and committed musician. He studied at Berklee, where he studied with greats like Joe Lovano and Terri Lyne Carrington. Now also based in New York, he has become an integral part of the scene and has worked with Kenny Garrett, Orrin Evans and many more. He is also part of the Black Art Jazz Collective, including Jeremy Pelt and Wayne Escoffery; one of the busiest formations in recent years.
