LINNÉHO MAČETA ⎮ SWAP / výměna (nejen) exotických pokojových rostlin s postkoloniálními poznámkami
LINNÉ MACHETE ⎮ SWAP / exchange (not only) of exotic indoor plants with post-colonial notes
Event by: Bubahof-Olga
Location: Bubahof, Nad Primaskou 821/1, Praha 10
About event
Linné macheta is an open meeting of enthusiasts who want to share not only cuttings and seedlings, but also the stories behind them. The name of the event refers to the legacy of Carl Linnaeus, whose systematic classification of plants fundamentally influenced modern botany — and at the same time became a tool through which nature was often subjected to a colonial view, cataloging and control.
The event connects the practical level of the swap with informal "postcolonial notes" that disrupt the romantic notion of exoticism and open up more complex layers of the relationship between man and plant. Linné's machete is not only an exchange of greenery, but also an attempt to reframe the way we think about plants: not as decoration without a past, but as living witnesses of history, displacements and inequalities.
A meeting for all who enjoy talking about plants and hands from clay.
Exchange, bring and take plant gifts. Cultivation equipment is also suitable for exchange.
