On June 19, come and celebrate the French-speaking book in Prague!
After a successful 2024 edition on the theme "Writing (in) Prague", the annual event read in celebration soon returns for its third edition, this time on the mirror theme "Writing (in) Paris".
Thursday, June 19, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Join us for a festive, fun, creative day ... and gourmet!
young and old, enjoy a rich and varied program in the institute's premises: books at low prices, literary meetings, gastronomic discoveries, workshops, publishers' stands, exhibition, open stage and much more. A real book celebration, to live with family or friends.
On the forecast program:
📚 Grande Braderie de la Médiathèque: Explore a wide choice of books in French at mini prices. A great opportunity to enrich your personal library or make unexpected discoveries!
✍️ Stands of French -speaking publishers: find a selection of French -speaking works translated into Czech, in the presence of their publishers and sometimes their translators. The ideal opportunity to discover the richness of French literature in its Czech version.
💬 Independent spaces and alternative projects: magazines, micro-editors, creative collectives and independent literary projects will also be present. A stimulating panorama and off the beaten track of the French -speaking editorial scene in Prague.
💡 Literary program: meet authors, translators and publishers during presentations of new works, current projects, feedback from writing, and discussions around the Czech editorial news translated into French.
🧀 Gourmet tastings: all day, let yourself be tempted by sweet and savory French specialties.
🎤 Open scene (in the evening): close the day in style by going on our open stage! A free space dedicated to poetry, reading or any other form of creative expression.
