About event

A unique mix of reading and improvisational theater Or in short: one person reads, the other one does crazy!
In this special kind of reading, the audience decides where it goes. Voice actor and actor Dirk Lausch takes up your challenge and reads everything that is presented to him straight away. After all, we've learned that everything that comes to the table gets read, right? Be it a classic, short story, hit text, advertisement, love poem, SMS, shopping list, letter from the authorities, tax return, menu or anything else readable that the listener (should) have in their luggage. If necessary, also alphabet soup. It's worth trying, because even the telephone book becomes a listening pleasure thanks to Lausch's distinctive voice. But that's not enough. Improv actor and director Thomas Jäkel, with the support of the audience, then makes his own rhyme to what he has heard, rewrites it, writes it himself, continues to spin it, leads the audience down unexpected paths. Impromptu, i.e. unrehearsed (Jäkel is the founder of Theatersohne Rehearsal) and completely improvised, a unique reading is created every time and couldn't be more exciting or entertaining. Most spontaneous reading and exquisite improvisation. And always new!
Let yourself be carried away into the world of language, enjoy playing with words and enjoy the spoken magic of this reading. The duo eloquently passes the balls to each other and takes the audience on a diaphragm-relaxing walk through the Letterwald with a refreshing swim in the Wortsee.

Dirk Lausch saw the light of day in Berlin in 1968. Gained his first reading experiences in preschool thanks to his Sesame Street buddies Ernie and Bert. In 2006, he began reading loudly and with emphasis on the cult reading show “Literature in the Pub” in Berlin-Schöneberg. Since then, the man with the trained voice has often been found at various reading locations in Berlin and Brandenburg and gives reading workshops for young people and people who are young at heart.

Thomas Jäkel was born in Greiz in 1981 and studied history and philosophy in Berlin. He has been staging his own theater projects since 1998. Inspired by Keith Johnstone's book Improvisation and Theater, he began experimenting with improvisation in productions in 2000 and playing improvisation himself. In 2010 he founded the Theater ohne Rehearsal in Berlin with Sonja Dif.
