👣 The literary walk with the subtitle "READING THE CEMETERY: The Evangelical Cemetery near the Goat's Gate" is this time accompanied by literary historian Dana Hučková.
📖 At the end of the 18th century, a new Evangelical cemetery, known today as the Goat Gate Cemetery, was founded on the site of the former vineyards and gardens behind the city palisades, which had the function of the outer city walls. The walk will show the cemetery not only as a place of cultural memory, but also as a unique cultural text, a special semiotic landscape formed in this case for almost two hundred and fifty years. The reverential resting place of a number of personalities of Slovak literary and cultural life can also be recognized as a network of social contacts of individual actors or as part of the linguistic image of the world through epitaphs and inscriptions on gravestones. We will look at the cemetery as a meeting place, a literary motif and a film location.
