👣 The guide will be Anikó Dušíková from the Department of Hungarian Language and Literature of the Faculty of Arts of the Charles University. It will be accompanied in Slovak. The reason is that Bratislava has 2 faces in the work of the authors. The first one can see in the texts of the interwar period, who were born in the city, binds their Bratislava (Pozsony) a strong emotional bond, the space of their stories is especially the Old Town. The second one emerges from the texts of the authors who, after World War II, came to the city as a curious and eager country, ready to gain recognition and the place of their first meeting with Bratislava was most often the station, their living space, Old Town Subbing and later new settlements. Individual stops walks focus mainly on those places where these two faces are reminiscent of each other (convent, Michalská gate, Old Town Hall, Hviezdoslav Square, Kapitulská). The last stop will be the Danube embankment near Vydrice.

About the Literary Walks Project in Bratislava
Literary walks in Bratislava are a new concept combining educational literary activities (lectures) with commented tours of the city, which have become a popular popular format in recent years. Thematically and professionally, they will reflect the artistic publication of the extensive team of authors (R. Passia, V. Barborík et al.) Entrical entitled Literary Lands of Bratislava: Picture of the City after 1918 (Science, 2023). The project will bring a series of ten thematic walks oriented to the spring and autumn months. Walks will be devoted to topics such as interwar Slovak literature, themes of the Danube, Podhradie, Medic Garden, Ondrej cemetery or socialism. The other two events will bring commented reading of selected literary works depicting and reflecting Bratislava at different periods of the 20th century.
