📅 WHEN: Saturday 23 November
🕙 START: 14:30
🏠 START: In front of the monument to Sam Chalupka in the park at the intersection of Legionárská and Radlinského streets in Bratislava
🎫 CAPACITY: 30 people - since the capacity is limited, please, if you are interested, register using the form: https://forms.gle/pcJ8pRi8CN5PsGvN7
💸 ENTRY: voluntary, recommended entrance fee min. 3 €, which will help us cover this and other upcoming events 🙏
👣 The guide will be a literary scholar from the Institute of Slovak Literature SAV Radoslav Passia.
📖 📖 📖
< br/>Every literary work is set in a more or less specific space, but the relationship between text and space also works the other way around - literature symbolically penetrates the city and "asserts itself" in it, for example through names streets and squares or directly intervenes in their physical form with statues and monuments of literary figures. In the last walk of our cycle, we will look at Bratislava's monumental landscape in the triangle between the Račian myth, the Medical Garden and Freedom Square, where we will find a varied mix of references to our cultural history.

ABOUT THE PROJECT LITERARY WALKS IN BRATISLAVA:
Literary walks in Bratislava represent a new concept combining educational literary activities (lectures) with guided tours of the city, which have become a sought-after popular format in recent years. Thematically and professionally, they will reflect on the narrative publication of an extensive collective of authors (R. Passia, V. Barborík et al.) entitled Literary landscapes of Bratislava: image of the city after 1918 (VEDA, 2023). The project will bring a series of ten thematic walks oriented to the spring and autumn months. The walks will be devoted to topics such as interwar Slovak literature, thematics of the Danube, the castle grounds, the Medical Garden, Ondrejské cemetery or socialism. The next two events will feature a commented reading of selected literary works depicting and reflecting Bratislava in various periods, mostly of the 20th century. Bratislava - Staré Mesto district.
