Literární stand-up Pavla Tomeše

Pavel Tomeš will come to present his new book entitled 13! (Thirteen Factorial) in its traditional format, combining stand-up comedy and author's reading.

He will guide the audience through an author's also through the publishing process and will also present his other books, for example the humorous novel about death Good until the end which was awarded the Magnesia Litera Readers' Award 2022.

About the new book 13! is a mosaic of thirteen short stories in which the characters they get into unusual situations that don't always turn out well. But whether laughter or sorrow predominates, no darkness is so dark that black humor cannot shine through it. The book made it into the broader nomination of the jury in the Magnesia Litera 2024 competition in the humorous book category. “It brings 13 texts in which in well graduated stories with unpredictable plot points put the characters in very unusual situations, depicted in various positions from bizarre grotesque to ironic distance to heart-wrenching poignancy," the Magnesia jury said Letters 2024.

Pavel Tomeš is a writer, publisher and stand-up comedian who is known from the TV shows Comedy club or Na stojáka. He wrote three collections of feuilletons, Slaps from Mars, Notes of a Little Tyrannosaurus, and This People Take a Lot. Kosmas received the reader's award in Magnesia Litera 2022 for his humorous novel about death. He lives in Brno.
