About event
The life of Eva Umlauf began in 1942 in the Jewish labor camp in Nováky. As a two -year -old, along with her mother, who was in the fourth month of pregnancy, and she was deported to the Auschwitz concentration camp. Her sister was born in January 1945, her father died as a 33-year-old sepsis in March 1945 at the Melk concentration camp in Wachau. A graduated pediatrician and psychotherapist has been working intensively in the last two decades, traveling a lot and getting out of public to draw attention to the dangers that threaten democracy today. Since May 2025, Eva has been the president of the International Auschwitz Committee. In Slovak, it was first translated in Katarína Széherová in 2018 at Absynt. In 2025, it was published in this publishing house in the second edition.
