About event

presentation of the book with the participation of the author

As a "barricade pianist" he supported the revolution at home. In emigration, he makes a living as a lounge musician - Josip Rotsky, a man of unclear identity, whose name rhymes with Trotsky, Brodsky and Jozef Roth. He is supposed to play for the dictator of his country in a Swiss hotel - and he becomes an assassin.

After being imprisoned, Rotsky retires to his native Carpathians. Secret Service agents and other dark characters seek his life. He runs away to Greece with his lover Animé and the raven Edgar. Only on the prison island at the zero meridian does the story end. There, his "Radio Night" continuously broadcasts music, poetry and stories into the dark world.

The book Radio Night, which was published in Ukraine in 2020, is not only linguistic fireworks, but also a contemporary novel with eminent relevance. Climate protests, the pandemic, the threat from Russia - it is about a time in which hopes for radical change are being buried.
