About event
The Festival of Sacred Art is 35 years old this year, and our library will be a part of it.
We invite you to the library for a Literary Evening with Ján Gavur, a poet for whom Christian spirituality and values are a natural part of his writing and thinking.
In the LitPark at Kukučínová 2, literary scholar and poet Lenka Šafranová will welcome our guest.
Poetry is, together with music and visual arts, one of the most natural forms of expression for sacred art. Moreover, spiritual poems have a stable place in the Slovak literary tradition. Their modern form began to be created by the so-called poets. Catholic modernity and the need for contact with a higher principle is still present in our literature today. Our guest Ján Gavura, who is also a literary scholar, translator and publisher, belongs to the most prominent representatives of contemporary spiritual poetry. He is the author of four collections of poetry, currently working on the fifth.
You are cordially invited!
