Guitarist Jakub Šimanský after almost ten years of drums in the noise-rock band Unna debuted by Face to Face Against American primitivism in Eastern Europe vol. 1,. which was released on the Stoned To Death Records label in 2016. The album was well received at home and abroad, especially in the subculture of the genre "American primitivism", from which it drew to some extent, but to a large extent evident not only its own approach, variety in tuning and rhythm. Czech folk or eastern music. After three years, in 2019, cooperation with full Moon magazine and its publishing platform Full Moon Forum, which created a follow -up album Face to Face Against American primitive in Eastern Europe Vol. 2, where Šimanský is based on the first record style, but in the field of sound and procedures, it is beginning to experiment more and look for new possibilities of their acoustic instruments. In the spring of 2025, after more than five years, a new album called "What Do You Mean By That?" Jakub Šimanský is also a member of the active guitar duo Šimanský Niesner, with whom he intensively performs at home and abroad and released three long -playing albums together.
Styles and experimental approaches intersect with acoustic tools. As a result, the listeners are waiting for a varied mixture of rhythms, non -standard tuning, unexpected combinations or compositions. Each song is such a small story composed of the past, behind which no other message than to create a music world in which you can be carried away by the music itself.
The album was recorded by Jakub himself in 2024 in Brno. The sound was taken care of by Julian Werl, Austrian producer, sound engineer and musician living in Brno, also known as the Mlebom. The envelope was created by Jaroslav Exner. The album is released at its own expense. Jakub:
