About event
We are starting our new tango year 2026 in the Haus der Sinne with a very special event!
“Yiddish Tango – Odessa – Berlin” with Karsten Troyke and Trio Scho
Yiddish songs and klezmer – in TANGO – with Karsten Troyke, chanson singer, actor and speaker, who has made an international name for himself primarily with Yiddish songs and as one of the most important interpreters of them genres in Europe applies. He is said to be able to play with the most difficult texts and ambivalent emotional states. As an entertainer, he has a variety of forms of expression at his disposal, so you don't always know how seriously or ironically he takes a text. He can convey oppressive things with ease and humor can move you to tears. His Yiddish sounds like it comes from the old days of folk theater and cabaret, but the themes of his concerts are entirely dedicated to today.
He has an ideal musical partnership with Trio Scho. Founded in 1992 in the Ukrainian city of Poltava, they have been performing primarily on Berlin stages since 1994. In 2000 and 2011 the trio won the Berlin Senate Music Competition. Her repertoire includes spirited and melancholic Russian songs and instrumental pieces, her own songs, Russian swing and bossa nova. It goes from the “Golden Twenties” to the present day. Their music is in the tradition of Jewish Odessa - but every other genre flows into this TANGO EVENING.
Everything is danceable throughout!
Line-up of the trio:
Gennadij Desatnik: vocals, violin and guitar
Valeriy Khoryshman: accordion, vocals
Alexander Franz: double bass, Singing
DJ Juliana will be playing a balanced mix of neo, non-, contemporary and traditional tango music for you.
Admission: €18, reduced €15
