About event

Basics and consequences of economic interest representation in parliamentarism

Lobbyism is omnipresent. In political, journalistic and academic discussions, assessments oscillate between legitimate representation of interests and clientelism that is damaging to democracy. The European Parliament in particular has developed a rather negative reputation as a place where the whisperers of global economic interests are at the mercy of each other.

The Danish author Kenneth Haar, with the support of the Brussels office of the Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung, has written a comprehensive study on this problem area, the German translation of which we would like to present and discuss with him and other guests. The event will be moderated by Pauline Jäckels, journalist at taz.

Guests:

Kenneth Haar, author
Christina Deckwirth, lobby control
Stephan Kaufmann, journalist and scientist
Moderation: Pauline Jäckels, journalist

Languages: German and English with Interpretation
