About event

Longital & Tante Elze | Saturday, October 25 at 8:30 p.m Christiania

A staple of the Czech-Slovak alternative scene, the playful and constantly experimenting Longital come to Prešov to present their fourteenth studio album The Land Runs Down Its Own Shore (Slnko Records). The new product brings an intimate and experimental sound path - from acoustic instruments to electronic layers to a unique voice. The lyrics open up space for inner questions of being, joy and transience, and the album is an invitation to stop, listen undisturbed and return to what is essential.
For 25 years, Longital have been known for their original combination of poetic lyrics, Shinya's charismatic vocals, stringed bass lines and Dan Salontay's inimitable guitar. The duo has performed on world stages from Europe to the USA and Canada, SXSW in Austin or a tour with the Irish The Frames and the Oscar-winning project The Swell Season by Glen Hansard & Markéta Irglová.

The guest of the evening will be Tante Elze, who publishes her work under the same label Slnko Records. Her music combines electronic and rhythmic soundscapes with polished melodies and mature Slovak lyrics about motherhood, relationships and the search for meaning. In terms of genre, she remains true to her eclecticism – a combination of contemporary classics, experiments, jazz, ambient and alternative pop. Ody's current album was nominated in the category Album of the Year - Journalists' Award in the Radio_Head Awards 2024.
