LOOSE ARTICLES
(Punk / Manchester, UK)
Loose Articles are not a typical punk band. They work 9-5 like many of us, but once the beer hits, a different animal emerges. Their musical escapades began with the (achieved) goal of "making music because we wanted to prove that women can do it as well as men."
Although they were compared to Wire and The Slits, it's The Fall who are the band's cornerstone - The Fall's long-time producer (and Pixies collaborator) Simon 'Ding' Archer recorded and produced the Orchid Lounge EP " recognizing something of the surreal street poetry of the legendary group in Loose Articles.
Specializing in jarring, hypnotic repetitions, tales of drunken nights out and radical politics, Loose Articles are a punk quartet from Manchester with a lot to say. Their music is aimed at everyone determined to get through the age of austerity without language, with a pint in hand and both feet firmly planted on the dance floor.
After a tour with Gang of Four in autumn 2023, Loose Articles opened for Foo Fighters in their hometown of Manchester in 2024.
