The performance was created in the neoclassical choreography of Adela Abdul Khaleq and in the director's concept Štěpán Benyovszký. The costumes, inspired by the aesthetics of the nineteenth century, were created by Josef Jelínek – a legend of Czech costume design. Both the choreography and the story honor the original fairy tale libretto, where the main character Klara experiences a dreamy, magical adventure on Christmas Day.
Our staging brings dynamics, especially in the second part, where Klara together with the Nutcracker chases the cunning Mouse King, who stole her Christmas present . This iconic character plays a more prominent role in the story this time, which gives the entire show a new depth and makes it appealing not only to children's audiences.
The cast will feature experienced dancers from the domestic ballet scene, Czech ballet stars in solo performances and students of all ages from the Adély Pollert Ballet Academy.
