Rosaria Parondi together with her sons Simon, Rocco, Ciro and Luca emigrate from Lucania to prosperous Milan, where their brother Vincenzo already lives. The Lombard metropolis will bring various opportunities that will fundamentally change the lives of all family members, until finally leading to the complete disintegration of its bonds and values, despite Rocco's efforts to keep the family together.

Rocco and his brothers is a historical document that tells the story of Italy's transition from an agricultural society to an industrial one. It describes the great internal migration of the 1950s and 1960s, when thousands of people from the south moved to the "industrial triangle" (Milan, Turin, Genoa) for work, facing the trauma of uprooting and the difficulties of integration in modern metropolises.

The film definitively established stars such as Alain Delon, Annie Girardot and Claudia Cardinale. The music of Nino Rota significantly contributed to the iconic and timeless atmosphere of the film.

The screening is part of a tour dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the death of Luchino Visconti, one of the key personalities of Italian and world cinema, whose work fundamentally shaped the history of film art and neorealism.
