About event
🟡 We invite you to a screening of the Taiwanese film Taste of Melons (2005), followed by a debate with director Tsai Ming-liang
❗ENGLISH ONLY
This event will be in English only! (the film will be subtitled in English and will be followed by a debate with the director again in English).
📽️Bizarre musical delving into the world of the Taiwanese porn industry, when near-future Taipei is suffering from a lack of water. In Tsai Ming-liang's masterful (alternatively restrained and flamboyant) directorial performance, an open-ended romance flirting with environmental agitation gradually turns into a tragicomic meditation on alienation and the inability to establish partner relationships in an environment where love is replaced by despised, but by necessity, porn consumed by everyone.
Free entry for FAMU students and teaching staff as part of the implementation of the AMU project, Mentoring program - Tsai Ming-liang, reg. no. 0411000010 (MKČR NPO, Visiting foreign lecturers III.) - registration required.
You can find more about the film and tickets in the link.
