About event
Lucie Hošková - we are only rumbling metal
Opening: 26 August 2025, 6:00 pm Tarkovsky. Hošková connects it with her own work with metal: she sees metal frames not only as a technical element, but also as a symbol of the weight, resonance and body itself. He installs canvas on the frames he previously stores in the ground and picks up again after some time. Traces of soil and moisture are drunk into the material and give it the form of leather, recording of time and body transmission. On the one hand there is a detailed observation, on the other a track of the decay. Both planes meet in one space and open a dialogue between presence and extinction, two forms of earthly incarnation. Individual topics are elaborated in series, which allows their clearer tone. To do this, she says that he is trying, "so that the image is as little as possible, but everything in content". This minimalism releases space for the atmosphere that looks directly and without ornament. In a series of winds, they try to capture the moment when one blast of grass moves and the other is not yet. David Tibet's lyrics have become inspired by David Tibet, in which the wind acquires animistic qualities and becomes a symbol of spiritual presence. In his album IF and City Set Upon and Hill appears a picture of "fox crowned by wind", a poetic motif, which in her paintings comes to life as meditation on incomprehensibility and transience. The exhibition We are just a thundering metal presents a set of works in which the Earth, the wind and the human body are connected. It is not about the aesthetization of death, nor the mere reflection of decay, but rather visual meditation on the presence, faith and transience, what remains in us, even though we are slowly disappearing.
Physical and intimate themes. Her work was also included in the program of the Center for Contemporary Art DOX, one of the most important institutions in the Czech Republic. The exhibition We are only thundering metal is the second cooperation with Hidden Gallery after the project in the Hidden Republic and confirms the continuous interest of the gallery in its work.
