Although we know more and more, there is an implementation gap in transport policy. Climate and environmental research already knows very well about the effects of climate change and species extinction. Mobility research can provide detailed information about the necessary measures that need to be taken. However, when it comes to the question of how these measures can be successfully implemented, there is a vacuum of responsibility. Research retreats on this question and points to the necessary “political will”. Politics sees itself as tied to the “will of the population” and declares many things to be unfeasible, especially in the area of ​​regulations. We want to make this implementation gap the subject of consideration. The starting point is both sides of the coin, namely the necessary traffic measures and the needs of mobile people. The aim is to draw connections between these two poles that lead to effective implementation solutions. This should take place as a dialogue between those involved in community and local politics on the one hand and research on the other. This enables co-creative solution finding with those who have their finger on the pulse of the population and with those who have their finger on the pulse of innovation.
