The second intervention within the tenth season of Galeria Výklad is an exhibition by author Ľudmila Hubová Machová entitled Okraje a praskliny/Margins & Cracks, which presents an intermedial installation exploring invasive plant species and their relationship with humans and the urban environment.
Ľudmila Hubová Machová (1990) built her long-term artistic program on the investigation of natural and artificial environment and the collision of the landscape with its unnatural positions as a result of unsparing human interventions. He deals cyclically with personal and public space, uncovering subtle connections between subject and object, searching for symbiotic coexistence of man with nature and his ambivalent relationship to it. However, he does not process defined environmental issues explicitly and precisely, rather through abstracted forms, special poetics and symbols. She also applies similar principles in her intervention for the Výklad Gallery, where she combines multiple media and expressive elements in the form of a kind of material collage forming
scenery.
The exhibition Okraje a praskliny/Margins & Cracks, through a combination of painting, object, photography and installation, deals with synanthropic and invasive plant species in Bratislava and Paris, from which the author recently returned (after a residency). She is interested in the phenomenon of invasive and "weedy" flora because of
the creation of a new environment in which atypical plant species begin to appear due to the disturbance of the original one. They then change the original character of the biotope or urban space even more. The realization of Ľudmila Hubová Machová in the Trnava interpretations also refers to the very cycle of nature and its processes – growth, degeneration and decay. It explores the urban environment, our coexistence with plants and their resilience and ability to survive even in inhospitable environments. Because their lives defined by the edges and cracks of our world often go unnoticed.
