About event
Dance performance of the choreographic duo Dorota Michalak & Alice Minar, which is set in the land of the Carpathian heights.
Can the dance be remedied by our attachments to the land and connect us intimately? Lush Blast: Tasting The Untamed examines the cultural representation of nature and relationships between natural and artificial, wild and domesticated. Trees and limb trunks, crumbling mountains, vibrating chains. Performers accompany the audience through various atmospheres, from suggestive songs to sour humor, and ask what remains in us and around us. Using corporeality and voices, they transform their presence into an effort to become something other than humans and invite us to a sensual feast and a cruel battlefield. After staying in the Carpathian wilderness, choreographers want to articulate power as vital strength, not as a tool of control. Since then, from the old forests and wildlife, it has been constantly learning what power and relationship mean. They listen to local stories about natural disasters, intermediate cooperation and ongoing political struggles on ecological management of the landscape.
