D 2025 Live Audio-Visual Performance by Lutz "Lüül" Graf-Ulbrich (Musik) and Dani Mystery Zone (Visuals)
Lutz Graf-Ulbrich aka Lüül is a very own phenomenon in German music history. At the end of the 1960s he was with his band Agitation Free Pionier of Krautrock, successfully with the 17 hippies worldwide, shone as a NDW star with “In the morning in the subway”, at the Reineke Fuchs Rocktheater and repeatedly as a German-language singer-songwriter with radio hits like “West Berlin”. Not a decade since then in which he would not have left his musical note. Even in the New York cult club CBGB's you saw him on stage - with legends Nico and John Cale.
Now Lutz Graf-Ulbrich opens another chapter of his varied career and presents his first instrumental Krautrock Soloalbum with “Lüüls Lab” (the cultural department store on the Kulturmanufaktur label). The album is a homage to guitarist Manuel Göttsching, who died in December 2022, with which he played together in the band Ash Ra Tempel / Ashra and has been friends since youth. The album originated in a performance at the memorial event for Göttsching in Berlin. Lüül played the play "Oasis" from the jointly produced album "Correlations" (1979), which is now also on his solo album in a new recording. From this impulse, Lüül went on a musical adventure trip without knowing exactly where this path would lead him. The visuals of Dani Mystery Zone open further portals of imagination.
After the performance, Lüül and Dani Mystery Zone are looking at the interaction of music and visuals and the underlying inspiration give.
