About event
[English Below]
During the term of the Lygia Clark Retrospective, selected groups of the artist are regularly reinterpreted in the exhibition space. Please note that times can change easily.
Tunnel, 1968
Two people move from different sides through a narrow, flexible fabric tunnel of 50 m in length. They have to crawl past each other to get to the exit on the other side. This creates a single feeling and arouses associations to a birth canal. If the participants feel too much suffocated by the fabric, Clark cuts holes into the cloth through which they can breathe. This can help the people in the tunnel from the outside - a process that Clark also combines in connection with a birth. Several participants go into the network with their hands and feet or their entire body at different areas and move in the room. Every movement of a single person also affects all other people. Everyone is connected and the group feels a collective body.
