As part of the first day of the workshop at Kampus Hybernská, Somax2, an application for improvisation and musical composition, will be presented, the workshop leader, Marco Fiorini, a musician and researcher at the IRCAM Institute, will focus on its concepts, user interface, control, learning, architectural aspects and musical scenarios . Specific music samples with Somax2 will be shown.

On the second day at the Punctum club, the workshop will continue in the form of applicants being able to test Somax 2, interact with it and each other. It will be an improvisational workshop in which an element of artificial intelligence will also be involved.

Both days will also be accompanied by a discussion.

The workshop is an ongoing project at IRCAM - STMS Lab in Paris and is led by by Gérard Assayag (Director of IRCAM Research and Principal Researcher of the Music Representations team), which includes the development of software for collaborative improvisation through artificial intelligence computer agents, dissemination science and art making for specific application of these new technologies in real performance contexts.

Entrance fee: recommended, 200 CZK (for each day of the workshop) and includes the membership fee of the Punctum club.

This workshop will present Somax2, an application for improvisation and musical composition, and it will focus on its concepts, UI, control, learning, architectural aspects and musical scenarios. Concrete musical examples with Somax2 will be demonstrated, as the workshop will end with a demo and a musical performance in which participants will be able to join together and create a short set of improvised music.

This workshop is an ongoing project at the IRCAM - STMS Lab in Paris and directed by Gérard Assayag (IRCAM research director and head researcher of the Music Representations team), which involves the development of software for co-improvisation through artificial intelligence computer agents, science dissemination, and artistic creation, in order to apply these new technologies in real performance contexts in a concrete way.
