On Saturday, 𝟭𝟰 𝗱𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝘇𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗿𝗼 𝟭𝟱𝗛 𝟭𝟱𝗛, architects 𝗚𝗼𝗻ç𝗮𝗹𝗼 𝗕𝘆𝗿𝗻𝗲, 𝗡𝘂𝗻𝗼 𝗥𝗶𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗿𝗼 𝗲 𝗡𝗼 𝗡𝗼 𝗡𝗼 𝗗𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘇 𝗗𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘇 join a “𝗘𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼/𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮” in the scope of the exhibition “𝗠𝗮𝗶𝘀 𝗱𝗼 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗮𝘀 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗮𝘀 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗮𝘀 𝘃𝗮𝗺𝗼𝘀 𝗲𝗺 𝗮𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗹 𝗱𝗲?” , in the auditorium of the 𝗠𝗨𝗗𝗘 - Design Museum, in Lisbon.
Around “𝘁𝗿ê𝘀 𝗲𝘅𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘀 𝗱𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮ç - 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗹”, the meeting convenes the authors of the projects, the municipalities and residents' associations of:
/ Casal das Figueiras, in Setúbal, architect Gonçalo Byrne (Setúbal /operation SAAL, 1975-79);
/ Quinta da Malagueira, in Évora by architect Álvaro Siza (77-98);
/ Lameiras Building, Famalicão, by architect Noé Diniz (INH, 1978-83).
We seek to hear, first-hand, the authors about the processes and solutions found; as well as thinking about the possibilities and challenges of the future of these communities.
This meeting takes place within the scope of the Exhibition “More than Houses: how will we live in April 2074?”, curated by Teresa Novais and Luís Tavares Pereira - which runs until January 25, 2025 - and is part of the “Mais than Casas” program, organized by FAUP - Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the April 1974 Revolution.
The Parallel Program to the Exhibition proposes a space for public discussion around living and the city, and its reconfigurations for a near, inclusive and sustainable future.
