About event
On November 24, 2017, the Rovás Association received the property on Erzsébet Street from the Hungarian State - courtesy of the State Secretariat for National Policy - and since then we have celebrated this very important milestone in the life of our association every year. The MaJel Rovás Központ opens onto Erzsébet Street in downtown Kassa, which leads to the main entrance of Szent Erzsébet Cathedral. The abbreviation MaJel stands for the House of the Hungarian Presence, where the Hungarian spirit is present with its colors, melodies, tastes, art and cultural values. We are building a center of Hungarian culture and art (if we want to be contemporary, this is a process), which will give the city not only a Hungarian past, but also a present. The present is what will be: in other words, we ensure the future in the present.
The main goal of the MaJel Rovás Center is to provide space for the maintenance of a center in downtown Kassa, which aims to bring Slovak and Hungarian culture closer together with its lively cultural life and programs.
