Johanka Joanidesová from the workshop of Goodwill in Brdárka
For three weeks a year, from the end of April to mid -May, the village Brdárka changes, as after the magic wand to the European to world. She also calls her "Slovak Japan"! People attract cherry sets. Nevertheless, only sixty people live here. There are old settlers who feed on working in small farms, but also several young families. They moved from the cities to change their life in Dlhá Valley around the stream. One such is Johanka Johanides with her children. Joan was born on May 23, 1976 in Topoľčany. The only daughter akad. Painter Milan Johanides and Akad. Painter Nadeho Ždináková. She grew up in the Vlčí Horas /Bardejov district /at her grandmother from my mother, the former guerrilla, anti-fascist fighter- the village of crosses, in the area of Turca- Dedinka Príbovce- U grandmother from the father's side /craftsmen, writers, theater /alternately in Kosice, Bardejov, Bardejov, Dedinka /near Ptičia /near Humenna / … She studied secondary school in Košice - Grammar School Šrobárová, also at the School of Arts Industry - Ceramics Department. During secondary studies, it was active in the field of music, theater, film creation, ecology, social activism / squat green yard / and others. Later study of artterapy / clay / in Olomouc. He is currently engaged in free creation (ceramics and painting), socio -educational work for the most famous part of the Roma community - settlement Roma, founder of the Social Cultural Workshop, dedicated to the preservation of traditional crafts in the field of eastern Slovakia. She is the mother of five children. She came to the Brdárka with her mother. Joan, along with children, produces a beautiful, fire -burning ceramics. It is a traditional procedure that is more time consuming, but unique. Her vision is the creation of a free creative space. Because it's not an ordinary ceramic workshop. It is a touch of nature through clay, through the hands that make up unique products. Even though it is said that time has been there… Yes, that's right. You will feel a unique connection with nature, whether through animals, plants, trees, water, magical places… where there is harmony and peace, amazing peace of mind. You will also feel all this in their ceramics.
