You don't choose your family, you have to learn to endure it!
The head of a rich family, the aging egocentric narcissist Amália, is unexpectedly married to another world. What a tragedy. Relatives from all corners of Slovakia begin to gather for her funeral, just to show how much they grieve for their "loved" person.
The body hasn't even had time to cool down, but it has already attracted a flock of vultures who call themselves "Family ". Everyone wants to grab their own little piece of the fairytale heritage pie. And when else should a family argue, if not on such a warm occasion!
Old traumas and injuries are brought up, and we gradually find out what impact toxic Amalia had on the personalities and natures of her children. What are they willing to do just to get their hands on the inheritance? Everyone kicks for themselves because selfishness and greed are their basic characteristics.
Would we be different in their place? Each of us knows the greed and envy that "enjoy" family relationships. How is your relationship with your mother, mother-in-law or sister? Don't you sometimes feel like strangling or drowning these toxic relatives in a spoonful of water? And what happens when we finally find out that nothing is as it seems?
The test of character gradually turns into an unforgettable carousel of comic situations and dark humor. Many of our stereotypes and complexes that we carry with us as our cultural heritage are confirmed. All this is presented by the renowned Slovenian playwright with the ease of irony, caricature and satire.
