Amnesty International was founded on the idea that writing a letter to an innocent, unjustly imprisoned person can mean a lot - and change their life. Since our establishment more than 60 years ago, we have confirmed this premise countless times. Thanks to millions of letters of solidarity, we managed to positively change the lives of tens of thousands of people. Since 2001, the Letter Writing Marathon has been a huge source of hope and help for oppressed, bullied and unjustly imprisoned people around the world.
Come join us in the 12-hour Letter Writing Marathon that will be on Saturday, December 7, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. in the Ludvík confectionery in Bratislava. At the event, you will learn about this year's Letter Writing Marathon cases and you will be able to write a letter of solidarity, sign a letter to the authorities or relevant authorities, draw a picture or make a collage in support of people whose rights are violated and who are waiting for justice. Of course, there are no limits to creativity. We will then send these letters.
You can spend as much time as you like at the event. If you manage to come for at least 1-2 hours, you might find that you want to stay a little longer. Anyway, we will look forward to your participation and we will be writing letters all day in Kubik.
We will provide papers, creative tools and small snacks.
So don't hesitate, write a letter and change someone's life.
At 6:00 p.m. you will be able to take part in our human rights quiz and win interesting Amnesty prizes.

Join us for a 12-hour Letter Writing Marathon on Saturday, December 7th, from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM in Ludvík in Bratislava. You'll learn about cases featured in the Write for Rights this year and have the chance to write, draw, or otherwise craft a message of solidarity with the unjustly imprisoned and write letters to authorities. Creativity knows no bounds, and we'll ensure all these messages are delivered.
You can spend as much or as little time at the event as suits you. If you manage to join us for even one or two hours, you might find yourself wanting to stay a bit longer. Either way, we'll be thrilled to have you, and we'll be writing letters in the Kubik throughout the day.
